Breaking News: Gunmen open fire on security guards in armed robbery

The driver and a passenger, both wounded and terrified, were left helpless at the side of the road

K9 Unit officers are in hot pursuit of armed robbers after a truck carrying cigarettes was hijacked and robbed this morning (October 14) in the Muden area.

Heavily-armed men forced the vehicle off the road and opened fire on two security guards travelling in the truck, hitting them in the legs.

The callous thugs helped themselves to cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash. The driver and a passenger, both wounded and terrified, were left helpless at the side of the road.

The hijackers are said to have been travelling in a Hyundai H100, a Toyota Quantum and an Audi with tinted windows.
