Bhekuzulu community set to protest

MEMBERS of the Bhekuzulu community will be holding a march on Friday, October 14, where they will take their complaints to the AbaQulusi Municipality.

Led by their elected task team, which has members that were selected from Ward 08 (Sasko area), Ward 10, Ward 11, Ward 13, and Ward 22, community members will march from King Zwelithini Hall in Bhekuzulu at 9am to the main municipal offices in Market Street to hand over the memorandum of their grievances to the MEC of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Mrs.Nomusa Dube-Ncube and the AbaQulusi Mayor Cllr Martin Mtshali.

The protest seeks among others to address issues such as the municipality’s failure to deliver and supply water to the water tanks that were installed in some wards.

Some water tanks are said to have stopped supplying water to some of these wards and community members say that they were promised boreholes yet such has not been delivered.
