uThukela brings services to the people
The municipality says about 400 households are expected to benefit from this project in Weenen, and 1560 at Emabhanoyini

uThukela District Mayor Nombali Sibiya, along with uThukela Exco members, introduced a sanitation and sewer reticulation contractor on Tuesday (October 18) in Weenen and Emabhanoyini under the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality.
The contractor will be undertaking the construction of a sanitation and sewer reticulation project in Ward 22 at Emabhanoyini and Ward 23.
“We are bringing services to Weenen and Ezitedeni because it is our duty to bring proper and hygienic sanitation to the community,” said Mayor Sibiya.
She added that the project will also create temporary employment for the locals.
The municipality says about 400 households are expected to benefit from this project in Weenen, and 1560 at Emabhanoyini.
An estimated amount of over R32 million will be injected into the project on its completion.
According to the municipality, service delivery programmes have since been started in other areas across the district and this project is expected to be completed within 12 months.
