The fight against cancer continues…

An awareness event was held at the Crown Hotel to raise money for Cansa

After her daughter was diagnosed with cancer, Mrs Irin Somai has dedicated her time to raising awareness and helping those affected by this deadly disease.

A cancer awareness event was held today (October 23) at the Crown Hotel, organised by Mrs Somai. The money raised will go towards the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa).

Many people bought tickets and attended, thereby supporting the cause.

Entertainment was in the form of fun games, music and dancing, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

An amount of R7500 was collected, and the cancer survivors who attended the event were given R1000 each.

“I would like to thank the association (Cansa) and those who bought tickets to ensure that this event was a success. I also want to encourage people to raise awareness in the fight against cancer,” said Mrs Somai.

She and her team have created a data page and a web page to help raise awareness in this regard.
