Police launch manhunt after massive burglary

Glencoe Detectives have launched an ‘urgent investigation’.

Burglars ransacked Pep Stores in Glencoe in the early hours of Monday morning, making off with goods valued at around R180 000.

Over 360 cellphones are believed to have been stolen along with suitcases, clothing and other accessories.

Thieves gained through the roof which they cut open using an angle grinder. The ceiling was broken open and although the alarm was activated, the shutters on the window prevented police and security officers from being aware of what was happening inside.

An angle grinder was also used to cut open the safe.  Glencoe Detectives have launched an ‘urgent investigation’.
