Unique wheelchair race to mark International Day of Disabled Persons

Businesses are welcome to display their banners on the day

In celebration of International Day of Disabled Persons, a wheelchair race for able-bodied and disabled persons will be held in collaboration between Pro Nobis School and the Association for Physically Disabled (APC).
It will start at 9am at Pro Nobis, Victoria Street, and will be completed by 11am on Friday, December 2.
Wheelchairs will be provided for those who need. Individuals or teams of four persons are invited to participate. The cost will be R200 per entry i.e. R50 per person in a team of four. Businesses and organisations are encouraged to become involved and, by learning something about the skills needed for wheelchair manipulation, support inclusion of persons with disabilities.
Businesses are welcome to display their banners.
Refreshments and children’s crafts will be on sale.
Funds raised will go to APC, Dundee – an organisation that loans assistive devices eg walkers, wheelchairs, nebulizers etc at no cost (although donations are welcome) to anyone in Endumeni. Details: Email bevgarner@jenny.co.za or call 083 233 1777. Entries to be submitted in advance of the event for planning purposes.
