Al-Imdaad Foundation helps stroke victim
Mr Mc Todd says the commode has really improved his quality of life and is saving him the pain and effort of going upstairs with the broken ribs he sustained in the fall

Members of the Al-Imdaad Foundation recently went to the home of senior citizen Lionel Mc Todd to hand over a very needed piece of equipment.
The 79-year-old had a stroke many years ago and one side of his body is paralysed. He had another stroke on October 18 and fell down the stairs after going to the toilet, as the bathroom is upstairs.
It thus became clear to his family that he needed a commode. After searching all through town with no success, the Ladysmith Gazette reached out to the Al-Imdaad Foundation to see if they would be willing to sponsor the family with a commode.
There was a positive response within a week and Al-Imdaad members made their way to Mr Mc Todd’s residence to hand over the commode.
He and his family were overjoyed on receiving it. Mr Mc Todd says the commode has really improved his quality of life and is saving him the pain and effort of going upstairs with the broken ribs he sustained in the fall. This will speed up the healing process.
Thanks so much to the Al-Imdaad Foundation for their help and caring.
