Update: Water slowly reaching homes
While Ezakheni now has running water, Acaciavale and the Aloe Park area are slowly getting water but with very low pressure

uThukela District Municipality says that the emergency maintenance work which was being carried out over the weekend at the Ezakheni Water Treatment Plant in Embizeni is now complete.
The district municipality adds that water supply to the affected areas has been restored, but the reservoir will take a while to fill up, leaving most residents without water for a bit longer.
Over 250,000 households in Ezakheni, Acaciavale and Aloe Park have been without water as a result of the maintenance work. These furious residents have had dry taps since Friday (November 11).
While Ezakheni now has running water, Acaciavale and Aloe Park are slowly getting water but with very low pressure.
“The reason why water hasn’t reached other areas is that they are high lying and the electrical pumps at the reservoir aren’t pumping at a normal rate,” commented uThukela communications officer Jabulani Mkhonza.
