KZN MEC for the Department of Co–operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) Nomusa Dube-Ncube encouraged voters to participate in the upcoming by-elections, during her visit to Ward 6 in Madadeni, on November 5.
The by-elections were prompted by the murder of a Ward 6 councillor candidate ahead of the 2016 local government elections. This candidate won her respective ward posthumously.

Ministers and pastors prayed for peaceful and successful elections at the Siyathuthuka Sports Grounds in Madadeni, Ward 6 and was attended by more than 3000 people.
Ms Dube-Ncube called for political tolerance among all parties contesting the elections.
“The tragic loss of a life brought back painful memories of the past,” she said.
