Help Anika’s dress win top spot
Anika said her dress expressed her personality; fun, energetic and a balletic.
NEWCASTLE – Besides for her wedding day, the biggest day of any girl’s life, is her matric farewell.
Big ball gown, fancy shoes and and a hairdo to die for. That was all on the cards for 18-year-old Anika Jonker, who said her night was exactly what she had hoped for.
“When I put on my dress I felt like a real fairy – the kind out of a fairy tale.”
After her matric farewell, Anika entered a competition by submitting three photo’s of her wearing her matric farewell dress.
“I was reading the Sarie, when I noticed the competition. At first I thought I’d do it just for fun, but later it became more serious.”
Anika said her dress expressed her personality; fun, energetic and a balletic.
By entering the competition, she hoped to boost the confidence of many other girls, showing them they were important and that it is the small things in life, that made one feel beautiful.
“I hope that other girls will also participate in things like this.”
The competition required Anika to submit three photos of her dress. Thereafter the photos will be uploaded to the Sarie website, where people can go and vote for the best dress.
After the voting process, the top 10 finalists with the most votes will be required to do some photo shoots with various magazines, whereupon Sarie will choose the winner.
Anika hopes to excel in the competition, because she believes her dress is spectacular enough to make it to the finals.
“I know when I put on that dress I could not stop smiling because I felt beautiful. I only hope that a photo of my dress makes other people happy seeing it.”
The Sarie Matriekafskeidrok van die jaar 2016 competition will run until December 15, and Anika needs your support to secure her a spot in the top 10.
