Breaking News: Mayor Madlala’s son charged for murder

Alfred Duma Local Municipality Mayor Vincent Madlala’s son is in hot water with the law.

The mayor’s son has been arrested and charged for murder.

After several attempts to get police to release information regarding the arrest last week, Lt. Colonel Zwane finally confirmed that 25-year-old Ndodo Madlala was arrested on Tuesday, November 15.

Special Task Team officers arrested the 25-year-old in Ezakheni E-section, near a shop.

It is believed that officers travelling in an unmarked vehicle spotted the man and moved in to arrest him, catching the mayor’s son off-guard.

The 25-year-old appeared in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court last week Wednesday, facing murder charges, and is still in custody. The case was remanded to Wednesday, November 23, for a formal bail application.

It is believed that the murder charge may be linked to the ongoing taxi war with the Gamede clan.
