Community in uproar over wave of crime
Frustrated community members to meet to discuss ongoing crime in the area
Sir
After numerous house break-ins, it has been realised that these were carried out by the same syndicate.
It seems as if it is the same five men who are poisoning dogs and brazenly breaking into houses in the early hours of the mornings.
It also seems that these people monitor the community before selecting which house they want to break in to.
The community is now totally frustrated and very angry to have to live in such fear caused by heartless criminals and believe its time to take action to bring these criminals to book.
People are afraid to use ATM’s, to carry handbags, to go shopping, and are always concerned if our children are safe. We are even afraid of sleeping at night. Now we also fear for our pets. We are not safe out of our home, nor are we safe in our homes. This is totally ridiculous.
The criminals have broken into numerous houses demanding cash, jewellery and expensive items, including brand name clothing. These robberies, by the same syndicate, have being happening continuously for a few months and the community lives in fear of who will be targeted next.
To make Dundee a safer place, it will be somewhat of a relief if there are police patrols at night, including the early hours of the morning, and questioning of suspicious people in the area.
The community is also prepared to form neighbourhood watches. We are appealing to every member of the community to please meet and get together to discuss these serious concerns and try and find solutions to make Dundee a safer place.
