Water back in Glencoe after six day cut

Relief at last for Glencoe once gravity feed kicks in!

After six days without water, the supply is again running in Glencoe.  This  comes after specialist engineers had to be called in to carry out major repairs to the pipeline supplying the central residential area of the town which has been waterless since last Thursday.

Umzinyathi District Municipality said in a statement to the Courier, released about 10-minutes ago, that ‘water has been restored and in about an hour, 90% of the affected areas will have running water, dependent on gravity feed, through the system, from the town’s reservoir.’

The crisis has caused irate Glencoe residents to vent their frustrations on the Courier’s Facebook page.
