Queues galore on Black Friday
It is so jam-packed that the doors have been closed and one person is being allowed in every time a person leaves the store!
Why are there queues out the door at certain stores in Ladysmith today (November 25)?
Well, because it’s ‘Black Friday’, which means fantastic deals, bargains and promotions at stores all over the country, not just our little town.
Stores and supermarkets like Game and Checkers have been positively overflowing with hordes of shoppers, all wanting to cash in on the discount buys being offered for today only.
There are about 500 people queuing up at Ladysmith Checkers, with a bottleneck at both entrances. It is so jam-packed that the doors have been closed and one person is being allowed in every time a person leaves the store.
Game is also chock-a-block with shoppers eager to get their hands on marked-down electrical appliances such as TVs.
People are urged to be patient and aware of what’s going on around them if going out to shop at one of these ‘congested’ stores. This is an ideal opportunity for criminals to pickpocket or rob people.
There is also a danger of stampeding and people getting trampled underneath each other’s feet. So relax and wait your turn!
