Final assembly celebration at Drakensview Primary

It was an hour of happy singing, a powerful message and the rewarding of hardworking children

Last week the Drakensview Primary School grade three classes attended their Final Assembly in the Foundation Phase Department.

A well-rehearsed and slick performance was presented to the parents. The theme of the morning, ‘Choices’, made everyone aware that there are consequences to the choices they make.

The parents arrived at school to see a silent and positive protest being staged outside. Posters displaying slogans such as “Bullies must fall!”, “Learn to Compromise”, “Bully -Free Zone”, “Violence does not impress!” were held patiently by children.

It was a child-centred assembly with the welcome message, prayers and thank you to the special guest all performed by learners. Father Christmas and his two fairies brought gifts of Love and Honesty. Ms Thuli Mbele was the Special Guest for the morning.
