uThukela forced to shut off water supply
People are urged to bear in mind that no water can be supplied if usage does not decrease to an acceptable level

Due to the persistent drought, coupled with high water demand and usage in the Ladysmith area, uThukela District Municipality will be forced to shut off water supply for more than 19 hours a day.
This is in order to try and rebuild storage so that the various communities can have water.
People are urged to bear in mind that no water can be supplied if usage does not decrease to an acceptable level.
The situation will negatively affect the following higher lying areas of town: Limit Hill, Modelkloof, Kloof Park, Observation Hill, Mkhamba Gardens, Hyde Park, Industrial Park, Shayamoya, Steadville, St Chad’s, Van Riebeeck Park, and the golf course area.
Communities are urged to store enough water in their households in case of an emergency situation.
