Update: Storm results in water cuts
Lightning struck at the Ezakheni Bulk Plant last night, leaving the plant without electricity
Last night’s storm affected the Ezakheni Water Treatment Plant, which will result in water cuts.
Strong winds, lightning, hail and heavy rain caused widespread damages in Ladysmith, Colenso and surrounding areas on Wednesday evening (December 7).
An urgent notice has been issued by uThukela to inform the community of the possibility of water supply interruptions in Ezakheni Sections A, B, C, D and E, as well as the greater part of Acaciavale.
This is due to lightning that struck at the Ezakheni Bulk Plant last night, leaving the plant without electricity.
Eskom will be attending to the damage this afternoon (December 8).
