Update: More photos surface of Wednesday afternoon’s hailstorm

Lucky escape for most of town, as scale of storm becomes more apparent

The following photos were taken by a resident in Freesia Road on the night of the massive storm.

While hailstone sizes varied, some were as large as tennis balls.

In 2012, a major hailstorm destroyed hundreds of roofs in Ladysmith. This storm narrowly missed large populated areas.

For most of Ladysmith, last Wednesday’s storm was a lucky escape.

Some residents are still waiting for council to fix storm damage from 2012.
