The uThukela men’s soccer team have once again done us proud with a sterling performance.

They won gold by thrashing Umkhanyakude District 3-0 in an entertaining final.

Other sporting code results were as follows: rugby and table tennis – silver; female soccer and basketball – bronze.

“Our sports stars showed much determination and courage during the whole tournament, and we are very proud of them. This is in spite of the challenges we encountered on the first day of our arrival. The municipality wishes to thank all the participants for their time and effort in ensuring that the municipality is well represented at these games.

“We also wish to extend our gratitude to the parents for allowing their children to partake in the games. To all our sports stars, we once again say well done,” said uThukela communications officer Jabulani Mkhonza.
