The festive season is upon us and it is the season to give.
This was exactly what the Newcastle community did on Wednesday, December 14, at the South African National Blood Service’s annual Big Bleed.

“58 people came to donate, and 48 units of blood were collected,” said SANBS spokesperson, Shavani Sewpaul.
Ms Sewpaul said the donations make a positive contribution to the need for blood during festive season.
“On this day, 144 lives were saved and SANBS would like to thank its heroes – our blood donors,” Ms Sewpaul concluded.
