Tatum Griffiths to bat India for a six
Tatum was selected to play for the Western Cape Schools Invitation u/14 Cricket team at the MADAN LAL Cricket Tournament, which will be held in New Delhi, India.
At just 12-years-old, Hutten Park Primary school pupil, Tatum Griffiths stands the chance to play cricket at an international level.
He was selected to play for the Western Cape Schools Invitation u/14 Cricket team at the MADAN LAL Cricket Tournament, which will be held in New Delhi, India.
“I was very surprised and proud when Tatum was selected, but all the glory belongs to God,” said Tatum’s father, Quintin Griffiths.
Tatum was selected in December.
“Players from Northern Natal are usually chosen from the Amajuba District Cricket team, then the Northern Natal teams and then from the Inlands. Tatum was chosen when he went to play in Worcester.”
During the matches in Worcester, Tatum was spotted by an agent involved in the Western Cape Schools Invitation u/14 Cricket selection panel.
Tatum feels awestruck with the possibilities that lie before him.

“I hope to gain a lot of experience from the trip and I am looking forward to it.”
Tatum has been playing cricket for seven years, starting with mini-cricket before moving to his school’s u/11 team.
“I enjoy everything about cricket, but I do prefer batting as you can do so much more for your team.”
While ecstatic about the impending trip, Tatum and his father have found an obstacle that hampers Tatum’s dreams of going to India.
“We need R60 000 to go to New Dehli,” said Mr Griffiths.
The money will be used to secure his and Tatum’s flight, accommodation, and lessons from coaches in India.
“While Tatum is going as the Western Cape team, he will be playing in full Protea colours and it will be a huge honour for him,” Mr Griffiths emphasised.
