Left without water for 2 days
Homeowners say that no water tankers have been sent out to the affected area

Ladysmith residents in the area of Residency Road have been left without water for 2 consecutive days.
The problem is due to a burst water pipe in the road. Residents say that water was seen flowing directly into the drain and ask how clean drinking water can be allowed to go to waste like that.
One resident says she has had dry taps since Monday and needs water for her everyday chores.
uThukela workers were seen this morning (Wednesday) working on the pipe, but there is still no water in the area.
The road has been dug up and huge rocks are holding the barrier tape in place to warn residents that there’s a hole in the road. Due to almost half of one side of the road being taken up by the hole and rocks, motorists have to use the other lane, adding to residents’ concerns. They are complaining about the poor quality of the road and want it to be fixed, not to mention the fact that vehicles could be damaged if they drive into the rocks.
Homeowners say that no water tankers have been sent out to the affected area.
“We want our water to come back on as soon as possible. Not having water for two days in soaring heat makes life very difficult for us and our pets,” fumed one lady.
uThukela has been contacted and will be addressing the problem.
