Mobile classrooms are delivered to Estcourt Primary School

One parent was overheard saying although the classrooms have arrived most of the windows are broken

Bright and early on January 30 two trucks carrying two parts of one mobile classroom, parked off in front of the gates of Estcourt Primary School. The classes were expected to arrive on Wednesday, January 25.

It is believed that a tender document was sent out for transportation for the classes, and the delay was caused by awaiting a suitable response.Three working days later they arrived; better late than never as the saying goes.

The other classroom was set to be delivered and assembled later that afternoon. One parent was overheard saying although the classrooms have arrived most of the windows are broken and will need to be repaired at a cost.

One other parent shared different sentiments saying: “At least the classrooms have arrived; broken windows can easily be replaced as long as our children have a classroom to learn in.”

Estcourt Primary School Governing Body Chairperson, Hayden Smith commented:

“On behalf of the school, I would like to thank the affected parents for their co-operation during this time and I’d further like to apologise to our little grade one and grade R learners for the first day of school hiccups. We hope the rest of your schooling career with us goes smoothly.”
