Welcome rain brings with it some destruction

A deluge of rain turned streams and rivers into torrents yesterday.., especially at Tayside where the low level bridge was hardly accessible

Reader, Karen Heroux Vermaak said yesterday (Sunday afternoon): “My parents are cut off right now at Tayside. My dad is stuck at work with no food because he could not cross a low water bridge towards home. There is another bridge below the house and it is also flooded.”

The flow has subsequently subsided but more rain is expected later in the day, the weatherman says.
