Ichthus Christelike Skool is 20 jaar oud

Wat ‘n vreugde om te weet: die Here het 20 jaar van genade aan ons geskenk. Ichthus het in 1997 met 10 kinders in Graad 1 begin en nou het ons 110 leerlinge vanaf Graad RR tot Graad 7. Baie dankie aan al die ouers wat saam met ons in geloof begin het ; hulle het saam help pad maak toe daar geen pad was nie. Baie dankie aan elke ouer wat nog steeds na 20 jaar treë van geloof gee en hulle kinders aan ons personeel toevertrou. Baie dankie aan elke personeellid wat die pad gemaak het en steeds maak! Julle toewyding en deursettingsvermoë is ‘n riem onder die hart! Baie dankie aan elke kind vir die spontaniteit, leergierigheid en onnutsigheid… julle maak dit elke dag die moeite werd!

Over the past 20 years Ichthus scholars have proven that our academic standard is one of excellence by receiving top matric results at various High Schools in KZN. Leadership skills are developed at Ichthus and many current and past prefects and head prefects at various high schools in Northern KZN and surroundings are old scholars who nurtured these skills in the close knit and loving atmosphere of Ichthus.

Since 2002 when our first Grade 7 class existed, Ichthus learners have been part of the Eskom Science Expo in South Africa. Numerous learners had been awarded prizes at National level and some old scholars who continued participation in Expo during high school years, won national awards and big donations for their school as well as overseas trips to a Science Expo in the USA.

Sports skills form an integral part of the education at Ichthus. Various athletes had obtained provincial colours in athletics, cricket, hockey and netball and national colours in cricket, athletics, swimming and cross country. Cultural activities such as choir singing, plays, drama festivals are all part of the colourful variety to which Ichthus learners are exposed.

Outreach in the community forms an important part of our mission and we encourage our learners to be good servants to make a difference in the lives of other people. Ichthus train children to love the Lord Jesus and to live their lives according to God’s Word in a fun and practical way. The school encourages children to have a relationship with God.

Ons herwin by Ichthus en leer kinders om God se skepping op te pas. Onderrig vind in Afrikaans en Engels plaas vanaf Graad RR tot Graad 7 en word aangebied deur goed-opgeleide personeel wat die Here ken en liefhet! Klassies is klein genoeg dat individuele aandag gedurende elke les aan elkeen gegee kan word. Mag die Here gee dat ons elke dag met Sy oë na elke kind kyk en so ons bes doen om elke kind te lei om sy/haar skeppingsdoel te bereik, om sodoende die skool se visie te kan bereik. Laat ons soos Joshua van ouds sê dat die Here ons tot hier toe gehelp het en dat ons Hom vir die pad vorentoe vertrou. Soli Deo Gloria!
