Watch: Army battle tank still on the road at Oliviershoek Pass

Two recovery vehicles are en-route to Oliviershoek from Bloemfontein to help with the recovery

The battle tank and the abnormal-load truck that was carrying it are still at the roadside on Oliviershoek Pass.

This following the major crash that took place last night, killing one soldier and injuring 2 others. The transport truck overturned.

The tank was being transported to Durban for ‘Armed Forces Day’, which will be held during this week.

One recovery vehicle came through from Bethlehem and is currently at the scene.

Two more recovery vehicles are en-route to Oliviershoek from Bloemfontein to help recover the transport army truck and the battle tank.

Other military vehicles were seen travelling from Bergville en-route to Durban for the ‘Armed Forces Day’ event.

Currently at the scene, RTI and Okhahlamba Protection Services are conducting traffic control and providing safety measures for vehicles travelling up and down the pass.
