Soul-stirring chants at Hindu Dharma Campaign

The campaign brought together various Hindu organisations; fostering Hindu unity and it saw promotion of the Indian culture

The Estcourt branch of Divine Life Society of South Africa held a successful and well-attended Hindu Dharma Campaign on Sunday at the Swami Sahajananda Community Centre.

The campaign brought together various Hindu organisations; fostering Hindu unity and it saw promotion of the Indian culture. The programme began at 6am and included a short invocation, chanting, a health presentation by Krishnie Pillay as well as a yoga asana demonstration.

A representative of the Rishikumaris delivered a presentation at the Hindu Dharma Campaign on Gurudev’s Centenary Publications.

The fairly young group of devotees called the ‘Spiritual Darlings’ were actively involved and delivered most of the items on the main programme, which followed the first and second sessions of the day.

First they took to the stage to do a dance that they spent weeks choreographing. Next was an informative play based on Hindu worship and lastly a Ramayan recital.

The programme concluded with lunch prasad. Book stalls by various organisations were also set up for attendees to browse through and purchase various spiritual items.
