A man and a woman, who are related, are currently in custody in Glencoe following the horror stabbing to death of Daniel Pires (34) outside a Schroeders Road house in Glenridge on Sunday evening.

Police reacted to complaints of a domestic dispute at around 6.30pm. Mr Pires had been stabbed in the head.

Paramedics were called  but he was declared dead at the scene.

The man and a woman were then detained by police but at the time of going to press had not been charged.

A six-week-old baby, of which Mr Pires was the father, has been taken to a relative’s home in Glencoe for safety.

An investigation is continuing.
