Grade three and seven learners from Forderville Primary School organised cake sales, face painting and art competitions to raise funds for the Estcourt Animal Shelter.

They were whole-heartedly supported by their parents and guardians in the endeavours.

An amount of R4 000 was raised and handed over to Mr McFie, from the Estcourt Animal Shelter. Mr McFie informed the learners that the animal shelter is a non-profit organisation that relies on the public for its existence.

Mr Sookraj, Principal of Forderville Primary, thanked Mr McFie for his concern of our voiceless friends. He also challenged other schools to assist the shelter.

“It is important that children value the animals in our lives from an early age so that they can develop into responsible adults and citizens,” said Mr Sookraj.
