Explosion of colour at Holi festival in Ladysmith

Vibrant colours were seen on the faces of all who attended the Holi Festival

The Sanathan Dharma Sabha (SDS Lord Vishnu Temple), along with the community, celebrated the Festival of Colour known as Holi on Sunday evening at the temple grounds in Azalea Drive.

A large crowd of eager Holi celebrators gathered at the grounds from 5pm and took part in the prayer and hawan ceremony.

After the prayer, it was fun and games, with different coloured powders being thrown all over everyone.

A bonfire was lit in order to carry out religious rituals and devotees prayed that the inner evil be destroyed.
Popcorn was thrown on the fire.

The large crowd, with colourful powder in hand, ran around and danced the night away under the full moon.

A delicious supper in the form of breyani was enjoyed.
