Victoria Street gets a much-needed facelift
Good news for long suffering motorists
After years of complaints, repairs are finally being carried out on lower Victoria Street. The section of the road between Browning and Willson Streets has been severely damaged after coal trucks were directed through the central business district to the Coalfields Washing Plant on the Helpemekaar Road.
This was after Watt Road residents protested that the trucks were a threat to the peace and security in their neighbourhood.
The one lane, that was crumpled, has been ripped out and relaid. Willson Street and Commercial Road are also in a poor state.
