Doctor Sifiso is double golf, squash champion

Just what the doctor ordered …local doctor, Sifiso Kunene, followed up on being crowned Dundee Country Club squash champion for 2017 by winning the Club Strokeplay golf championship on Sunday.
After an excellent round of level par 71 on Saturday and 76 on Sunday, Sifiso finished on a total of 147 to be crowned Champion for 2017. Shakeel Kalideen was a worthy runner up when he shot rounds of 76 and 74 to finish three shots behind the winner on 150. Mandla Mthethwa finished the two rounds with the lowest net score in the A division to win the net prize on 137.

The Men’s B division saw both Bruce Meyer and Cyril Mkhwananzi finish with a gross score of 163 for the championship, with Cyril winning the play off on the first extra hole to be crowned B division champion for 2017.
The prize for the best net score in the B division went to Barry Sandy who finished on 138 for the 36 hole tournament. The ladies A division was won by Jane McKenzie, while Lorien De Wit was crowned the ladies B division champion and Dolly Bradbury the ladies C division champion for 2017.

A reminder to those players who finished in the top eight in each division who have qualified to play in the Club Matchplay Championship next weekend, April 1 and 2.
