VOORTREKKER – Two men were seriously injured in Voortrekker Street, on Friday, March 17.
According to an anonymous source, a man was stabbed while being robbed by three assailants.
Members of the community witnessed the stabbing and allegedly took the law into their own hands.
“They managed to catch the man who stabbed the victim, and started to beat him up.”
According to the source, the victim and the suspect both sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for medical care.
SAPS Pop Unit, K9 Unit and Newcastle 911 Policing Forum were at the scene to contain the angry mob and to conduct preliminary investigations.
