Forderville CPF is fighting crime together
The Ward Councillor, community and members of the CPF were commended on a job well done regarding the fun fair being moved from in front of the Forderville swimming pool
The Forderville Community Police Forum (CPF) held a meeting at the Forderville Hall last Wednesday.
Here are some of the matters that were discussed:
1. The area opposite the Forderville swimming pool is still a contentious issue. Police intervention is needed to combat the bad elements of substance abuse and irresponsible consumption of alcohol.
2. The crime statistics for March/April increased significantly compared to the past five months. Armed robberies, ‘spaza’ shops and residential robberies were the main crime reported.
3. The Ward Councillor, community and members of the CPF were commended on a job well done regarding the fun fair being moved from in front of the Forderville swimming pool. In a short time span, teams were mobilised and the results were fruitful in that the fun fair will no longer be located in the Forderville area, in future years to come. The Forderville CPF is hopeful that the crime will be significantly reduced due to the absence of the fun fair.

4. The Forderville CPF envisages having the team from the Refocus And Upliftment Foundation (RAUF) to address learners at local schools during the second week of May.
5. The initiative of conducting night patrol/neighbourhood watches was commended. A meeting will be held with interested parties in the coming week. A suggestion was made that a separate WhatsApp group be formulated to co-ordinate effective communication between members of the night watch. A caution was made that protocols in respect of night patrols must be on par with the law.
