Girls Hockey: The girls’ hockey teams had good results in Ladysmith on Saturday. The u/14’s won 1-0. The u/16’s unfortunately lost. The second team won 2-1. The 1st team played a high-intensity game which led to a 4-1 victory.

Seuns Hokkie: Die 1ste en 2de seuns hokkie spanne het harde, maar mooi wedstryde teen Ladysmith gehad. Hulle het met ‘n baie goeie gesindheid gespeel. Die 1ste span het 2-2 gelykop gespeel en die 2de span 0-0.
Rugby: Dundee High played a lot of rugby during this last week. On Wednesday the 3rd of May, two of our teams took on the KZN Development Team. Both the u/16’s and the 1st team won their games convincingly.
This past Saturday all of our teams travelled to challenge Ladysmith. The scores were as follows:
u/14: DHS 7-19 LHS
u/15: DHS 0-24 LHS
u/16: DHS 17-17 LHS
2nd team: DHS 17-5 LHS
1st team: DHS 31-5 LHS
DHS is looking forward to the next game against Vryheid Landbou on May 10.
Netball trials
The following girls of DHS represented Umzinyathi all ages KZN selections:
u/14 – Penny Parmisser, Hope Mkhize and Asanda Thungo.
u/15 – Thandolwethu Biyela and Aphelele Zwane.
u/16 – Mfundo Makhoba and Xoliswa Ndlela.
u/17 – Gcina Sokhela and Lethiwe Mathonsi.
u/18 – Simangaye Nkwanyana, Lungile Ntsele and Ziyanda Ngane.
The competition was tough but two of our girls made it to the KZN team. Simangaye (u/18) and Thandolwethu (u/15) who still has to go on Saturday, May 13, for final team proceeding to National level. Congratulations to all our girls, they lifted the Umzinyathi flag high.
