Mourning the passing of one of our most talented singers

Alberto could turn his hand to almost any musical instrument but remained humble.

Fans, relatives and friends of Alberto Griffiths, one of Dundee’s most talented singers/musicians, have reacted with shock to his sudden passing on Monday.

It is understood that Alberto fell ill some weeks ago, was hospitalised and never recovered.  With Inner Secrets, Alberto and Mo Karim, and their band cut a CD of original music some years ago and pioneered live music show during the 2000s, playing in Northern KZN, Johannesburg and even at Sun City.

A generous man, Alberto never hesitated to play for free for fundraising events and he and Inner Secrets famously set the streets on fire when they played for the Courier’s 2010 World Cup football street party on Beaconfield Street on June 11, 2010, coinciding with the kick-off of the tournament.

Alberto could turn his hand to almost any musical instrument but always remained humble in his ways.  A great loss to his lovely family and the community.  RIP Alberto!
