Update: Armed robbers busted by Ladysmith police

Staff members heard guns being cocked and were ordered to get down on the floor

In less than a week, police made a breakthrough in the armed robbery case at Buy ‘n Save which took place last week Wednesday (June 28).

A joint operation held over the weekend by Ladysmith Detective Services and the Visible Policing Unit resulted in five men, aged between 18 and 29, being arrested.

The suspects are set to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today (July 3), facing charges of armed robbery.

Six thugs armed with guns and knives were involved in the robbery.

It is believed that three of the men monitored the business and waited for the store to open.
