Umbele entries are now open

Talents from all around Zululand will be battling it out to see who will walk away as this year’s Umbele Wethu winner.

Last year's winner for the Umbele Wethu 'Ubuhle bendalo' category Samkelisiwe Mbatha, Mr MJF of the Sinethemba Project, which discovered her, her mother Thandiwe Nkosi, and Alet Swanepoel from Vryheid Tourism.

ITS that time of the year once again, where talents from all around Zululand will be battling it out to see who will walk away as this year’s Umbele Wethu winner.

Entries closed on July 6 and the categories are: spiritual gospel (with instruments), spiritual gospel (without instruments), afro gospel, Zion, Kwaito, ingoma yezintombi, ingoma yezinsizwa, modern dance, arts and crafts, indlamu, amaNazaretha, isicathamiya, poetry, drama, hip-hop, Maskandi, Ukushikila and Ukuzoloza.

Registration forms are available at the municipality and the auditions for Vryheid will be at Bhekuzulu Hall this Thursday, July 13.
