A 33-year-old man has been arrested by Ladysmith police for the murder of his girlfriend.
The murder took place on Saturday (July 29) in Cemetery Road. At about 11am, the body of a woman estimated to be about 27 years of age was found with assault wounds and burns.
The suspect was arrested by police at the crime scene.

He appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court yesterday (August 1).
The deceased has not yet been officially identified.
