Uthukela Cluster project team makes 17 arrests in Ladysmith

All the suspects appeared in the Ezakheni and Ekuvukeni Magistrate's Court

The Uthukela Cluster project team notched up arrests after concentrating their efforts in the Ezakheni and Ekuvukeni area during the period August 3 to 6.

Three people were arrested for assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm, one for selling liquor without a licence, and one for housebreaking and theft.

In addition, one person was arrested for common robbery, two for the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, three for business burglary and theft, three for drinking in public, and two for possession of dangerous weapons.

A total of 17 people were arrested and three firearms were recovered, one of which was found abandoned.

All the suspects appeared in the Ezakheni and Ekuvukeni Magistrate’s Court on August 7.
