Majuba TVET College celebrates Decade of the Artisan
During this period, the month of August will be dedicated to artisan development and be officially known as Technical and Vocational Educational Training (TVET) College Month.
The year 2014-2024 was declared as the Decade of the Artisan by the honourable Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training (DHET), Mduduzi Manana.
During this period, the month of August will be dedicated to artisan development and be officially known as Technical and Vocational Educational Training (TVET) College Month.
Therefore, Majuba TVET College invited various high schools from in and around Newcastle last Monday (August 14), where information sharing sessions were conducted by college officials to promote programme offerings for artisan training and development.
Learners were enlightened on some of the interesting activities that take place in engineering workshops as well as funding that is available from SETA’s for potential students in the field.
After receiving this information, learners are said to be well equipped to make informed decisions regarding their future career choices.
Eager learners participated in question and answer sessions and received well deserved prizes as a result.
This campaign aims to encourage high school learners and unemployed youth to choose artisanship as a way of alleviating skills shortages in the industry.
