September bears the appropriate theme ‘We Do Tourism’.

The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) chooses a region annually to be the centre of Tourism Month efforts.

Newcastle is the honoured beneficiary this year.

Tourism KZN (TKZN) hosted a morning event for the tourism industry at Vulintaba Country Estate, and guests enjoyed various demonstrations, talks on district success stories and discussions on local tourism.

“TKZN and the Amajuba District Tourism Committee have also arranged with 10 to 14 media houses for a district visit on Friday and Saturday. The media will tour district attractions in the region,” explained local tourism experts.
