WATCH: Education knows no bounds for disabled people
The programme was designed to assist unemployed disabled youth in acquiring skills to be employable.
Living with a disability should not hinder the chance to educate oneself.
This was the message at a graduation ceremony officiated by the Deputy Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services, Stella Ndabeni Abrahams.
The ceremony was held at the Blackrock Casino Imbizo Conference Hall on October 4.
Abrahams delivered the keynote address to 35 disabled students who completed the End-User Computing course; a level three qualification.
The course was funded by the Education, Training and Development Practices (ETDP) Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) and the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA).
The course qualification was accredited by the Media, Information and Communication Technologies (MICT- SETA) and the course service provider was rendered by Durban University of Technology.
Throughout KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), 150 students graduated from the programme.
“I am honoured and privileged to see people committed to advancing their educational skills,” said Minister Abrahams.
The programme was designed to assist unemployed disabled youth in acquiring skills to be employable.
Congratulations to all graduates!
