Hindu devotees pray for rain at Tom Worthington dam

"We humbly request and urge other religious organisations to conduct special prayer services for rain, as this crisis affects the entire country>

With the continuing drought devastating water resources, members and devotees of the Dundee Hindu Temple gathered at the Tom Worthington dam, Hattingspruit, last Sunday to pray for rain.
Guru Umeshvaran conducted a hawan ceremony in which all present took part and Mother Ganga was invoked to shower her blessings upon the area in the form of rain.

Remembering the recent violent storms that wreaked havoc in Durban and Gauteng, offerings were made to Mother Ganga and everyone prayed that She blesses the area with rain, may the waters flow peacefully and may there be no damage to property and danger to lives.
“We wish that this prayer will bear fruit and very soon we will receive the much-needed rain. We humbly request and urge other religious organisations to conduct special prayer services for rain, as this crisis affects the entire country,” said Geetha Dookie of the Dundee Hindu Temple.
