Veteran golfer Billy overcomes the heat

The sweltering heat on Saturday never deterred 33 golfers from competing in the November Monthly Mug competition at the Dundee Country Club.
An excellent one under par round 70 by veteran golfer, Billy Francis, saw him win both the Men’s A division Mug and the best gross score on the day.
Gene Robson finished second in the Men’s A division with a net score of 68.
Mandla Mthethwa was a very easy winner of the Men’s B division after shooting a 73 gross off his 10 handicap to finish with a net of 63, five shots better than second-placed Humphrey Browning who ended on a net 68.
The Ladies B division was won by Sandy Browning on a net 73 with Hlengiwe Hlongwane taking home the Ladies C division Mug on a net 67.
Three players recorded a 2 Club on the 12th hole – Lionel Shawe, Coenie Munro and Kevin Donaldson – while there were also three players who managed eleven points on the Jackpot holes to earn themselves a little extra cash, and they were Kevin Donaldson, Coenie Munro and Dan Scholtz.
Friday’s 11 hole meat competition attracted eleven golfers, which saw Dave Donaldson score an excellent 28 points to win first prize with Blessing Chiwaya finishing second with 22 individual points.
The Annual Corporate Classic to be held on Friday.

This weekend’s fixtures: Friday 11 Hole Meat Competition, and Saturday’s Club Competition will be a 4 BBBS format.
The Sibongile Social Sports Club will be holding a fund-raising golf day next Saturday, November 18 – an I.P.S. competition with the entry fee being R150 per person.
