Eqhweni Combined School once again lived up to its motto, which says: ‘Strive for Excellence’.

The school entered the Department of Education GET Excellence awards where learners write common tests in all subjects set at district level.
The tests were written by all learners in schools in the Uthukela district. Snenhlanhla Madlala got third position in English and first position in Life Skills. Sanelisiwe Nxumalo got third position in IsiZulu. Both learners are in grade six.

Their achievements led to their teachers, Mrs AZ Mabaso and Mr ZP Thabethe, being awarded certificates as well. The school was placed second for overall performance in the district for grade six. Two grade nine learners also performed well. Khulekani Nxumalo got second position in both Mathematics and Technology and Wandile Zulu got third position in IsiZulu.
Their teachers, Mrs HS Mahlambi, Miss TM Ndaba and Mr BE Ndumo, were also awarded with certificates. The School Management Team wish to thank the entire Eqhweni staff for commitment and working hard to produce learners who will face life’s challenges by being equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for a brighter future.
