PREVIEW: Nine KZN rapists sentenced to life in prison

“A total of 447 suspects were arrested, and 50 convictions secured all in one month.”

KZN – Various Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Units in KwaZulu-Natal have managed to secure a number of convictions for crimes involving women and children, during the month of October.

KwaZulu-Natal SAPS Corporate Communications and Liaison Officer, Colonel Themeka Mbhele said teams of FCS investigators managed to secure 50 convictions during this period.

The remaining cases still remain under investigation.

“A total of 447 suspects were arrested, and 50 convictions secured all in one month.”

A total of nine of the accused suspects were sentenced to life imprisonment.

As for the rest, they were sentenced to a total of 495 years in prison.
