Flakka: The threat is real

Flakka has been described as the Zombie Drug or Insanity Drug

It’s been described as the Zombie Drug, leaving its users in a state of panic and hysteria.

But while that may some far fetched, the threat of Flakka is very much real.

A synthethic drug that can be either snorted or taken in tablet form, Flakka users pose a threat to themselves and others.

Some of the tablets have the designs and logos of brands such as Facebook, Whatsapp or even Louis Vitton to make it more appealing to people.

Three men were recently hospitalised in Durban after their drugs were allegedly laced with Flakka.

Witnesses described that the men were behaving bizarrely. They were climbing trees, walls and hallucinating. They were also frothing from the mouth.

One of the men also bit his wife’s hand so hard, that a piece of her flesh came off.

Flakka is associated with many adverse side-effects such as heart palpitations, increased blood pressure and neurological manifestations like paranoia, psychosis and agitation.

If you suspect anyone if selling Flakka in your area, please report it to the nearest police station.
