Prestigious honour for Phumelelani Primary School Principal
I was awarded with a certificate of appreciation and a trophy in honour of outstanding efforts, dedication and contribution to the success of the departmental programmes
I am Nombuso M Cebekhulu. I began my journey as a young professional fresh from university. Thokoza High School gave me my first opportunity as a teacher where I had a chance to showcase my drive, passion and eagerness about education.
Over the years, I have acquired an immense amount of knowledge from prestigious colleagues. If I were to mention all of them, I will need the entire newspaper. Between 1986 and 2000, I laid my foundation in my career, learning as much as I could.
In 2000, this was where I showcased my talent – to name a few – I facilitated COLT, DSS, Gender, Women in and into management in circuit and district level.
In the last couple of years as a Principal of Phumelelani Primary School, I work with my efficient colleagues.
We managed to attain several acknowledgements from the Education Department, sister departments and non-profit organisations.
We are proud to be a mentor for many schools, a scaffold for other schools.
As a school, we participated in many departmental programmes like the Health Promoting School, SEEP, Eco Youth Development, GET Excellence Awards, sports, socio, Ushaka Sea World, National Teaching Awards, Conquesta, Eskom Science Expo, Readers Cup, Natural Science Olympiad, Amessa, Proud School, Soul Buddyz and Girl Guides.

On October 20, I participated in the inaugural Co-curricular Service Awards, which was held at Ezakheni TVET College. I was awarded with a certificate of appreciation and a trophy in honour of outstanding efforts, dedication and contribution to the success of the departmental programmes.
I thank the School Management Team, educators, School Governing Body, learners and parents for their huge support, dedication, commitment and hard work towards this achievement.
