With World Diabetes Week being celebrated recently, the Estcourt Lions Club held a free blood sugar testing morning at the Hillside Shopping Centre.

63 locals where tested with a quick prick on the finger.

Sister Jenny Wreford diagnosed one new diabetic and saw several known diabetics who are not adhering to a diet and medication. She stressed that it is very important to stick to a ‘NO sugar’ diet. If you to struggle with this, see a dietician or clinic for advice on a diet and more.
